Senior Front end Software Engineer

We are growing our frontend team at all levels and hiring junior, mid-level, and senior engineers. Our team is a small collaborative highly talented group with a number of interesting technical challenges that will excite either the best of mobile frontend application developers or the bright upstart.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Work closely with the design, product and engineering teams to define and develop the company’s next-generation mobile-optimized web applications.
• Using the latest web technologies, work closely with our UI/UX designers to translate product specs/mocks into fully functional user interfaces.  You’ll get to drive our HTML5-based cross-platform technology.
• Architect, build, and drive extensible cross-browser/cross-device front end code. Tens of millions of users will see and use what is built overnight.
• Keep up with evolving web standards, browsers/devices, and best practices.

Skill set and experience
 

• B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent

• Advanced knowledge of cross-browser web technologies (HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript).
• Advanced understanding of object-oriented JavaScript and design patterns.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails (highly desired), SQL and unit/functional testing 
• Based on requirements, has 1-2 years of experience and can write JavaScript from scratch, or leverage a framework (we use JQuery when we need to).
• Experience with building JSON/AJAX web services.
• Working knowledge of front end optimization and performance techniques.
• Proficiency with Photoshop.
• Experience developing mobile-optimized web applications, (i.e. iOS or Android apps) a plus.
• Experience with WebKit or Mozilla (Gecko) browser engines a plus.
